I grew up in Lubbock and attended Lubbock public schools, Texas Tech and Texas Tech School of Law.
I began practicing law in 1990 and have had a general law practice ever since. Over the last 30 years, I have represented thousands of citizens and entities in the following areas:

I served as your Judge in County Court at Law No. 3 from 2017-2018. I am licensed by the State Bar of Texas and admitted to practice before all of the State Courts and the United States District Court for the Northern District of Texas. I am a member of the Family Law Section, Litigation Section, Civil Trial Section, and Real Estate/Probate/Trust Law Section of the State Bar of Texas.
I am a lifelong Republican. I am guided by my faith, family, and a commitment to justice.
I married my wife, Tricia, in 1980, and we have two daughters: Jennifer and her husband, David Harper, and Lesley and her husband, Dustin Barinka. We are the proud grandparents of Madison and Cameron Harper and Weston Barinka. We are active members of First United Methodist Church and spend time volunteering in the community.
I am a Life Member of the National Rifle Association, member of the Lubbock Sportsman’s Club and the Dallas Safari Club.
I support the Republican platform for Judicial Conduct and will not legislate from the bench. I am proudly a Conservative.
